— Brazil's National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) awarded all eight lots offered in Transmission Auction No. 4/2026 on the 30th at B3 in São Paulo, drawing $1.62 billion (8.8 billion reais) in investment in power transmission infrastructure, the agency said.

The auction closed with a final discount of 50.10%, which ANEEL said represents savings of $3.81 billion (20.7 billion reais) for consumers over the life of the contracts.

The Annual Permitted Revenue (RAP) proposed by the winners totaled $149 million (811,093,093.00 reais), 50.10% below the ceiling of $299 million (1,625,414,529.48 reais) set by ANEEL, according to the agency. That annual revenue pays the companies to build and maintain the projects over 30 years.

ANEEL acting director Ludimila Lima said the investments would expand and strengthen Brazil's infrastructure so that energy reaches the places that need it. They said the agency would closely monitor the progress of the works to ensure safety, quality and compliance with deadlines.

The auction offered 8 lots with estimated investment of $1.64 billion (8.9 billion reais) and an expected 20,000 jobs, ANEEL said. It covered 1,866 km of new transmission lines, continued operation and maintenance of 483 km of existing lines, and substations with transformation capacity of 12,694 MVA.

The projects are located in Bahia, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraíba, Paraná, Rondônia and São Paulo states.

The deadline for commercial operation ranges from 42 to 60 months, for 30-year concessions counted from the signing of the contracts, according to the agency.
