Brazil's Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) opened a public consultation on a draft ordinance setting guidelines for the 2027 auction to supply the isolated systems, according to Ordinance SNTEP/MME No. 3,250, signed Oct 20 and published Oct 29.

The draft sets guidelines for an auction to acquire energy and electric power, and for other measures to guarantee electricity supply in the isolated systems, according to the ordinance.

The consultation also covers EPE technical report EPE-DEE-IT-082/2026-r0, which proposes how to calculate the reference prices and the fuel cost (Ccomb) for the 2027 isolated systems auction.

Technical Note No. 16/2026/CGSI/DTE/SNTEP, which supports the proposal, is available with the other documents on the ministry's website, its Public Consultations Portal and the Participa + Brasil portal, the ordinance said.

The ministry will receive contributions through its Public Consultations Portal for 20 days, counted from the date the ordinance was published.

The ordinance was issued by the ministry's National Secretariat for Energy Transition and Planning (SNTEP) and signed by Secretary Mariana de Assis Espécie. It cites Law No. 12,111 of Dec 9, 2009, and Decree No. 7,246 of July 28, 2010.

The ordinance took effect on the date of its publication.
