— The CERC on Oct 26 adopted tariffs for 448 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable power that SJVN Limited procured under a 1,200 MW round-the-clock tender, subject to SJVN tying up the capacity under power purchase and power sale agreements.

The commission adopted tariffs for five developers, according to its order in Petition No. 233/AT/2026. ReNew Solar Power Private Limited won 100 MW at 4.82 rupees per kWh. EG Energy Development Private Limited won 60 MW at 4.83 rupees. Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon Pvt. Limited won 100 MW at 4.86 rupees. Serentica Renewables India Private Limited won 100 MW at 4.89 rupees, and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited won 88 MW at 4.91 rupees.

According to the order, five bidders quoted a cumulative 560 MW against the tendered 1,200 MW. Under the tender rules, capacity eligible for award in the e-reverse auction was limited to 80% of the quoted capacity, or 448 MW.

Under the guidelines, developers must combine renewable generation with energy storage to supply firm and dispatchable power, the order said.

The commission said the discovered tariffs were consistent with similar projects. It cited an order dated Nov 22, 2025 that adopted tariffs of 5.06 to 5.07 rupees per kWh.

The commission approved a trading margin of 0.07 rupees per kWh if distribution companies agree to it. The margin would be limited to 0.02 rupees per kWh if SJVN fails to provide an escrow arrangement or a revolving letter of credit to the developers, the order said.

The commission said SJVN had filed beyond the 15-day timeline in the guidelines and directed it to adhere strictly to the timelines in future cases. SJVN said it had been tying up power with buyers before filing.

According to the order, SJVN said Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited gave in-principle approval by letter dated Feb 11, 2026 to buy the 448 MW during October to March each year.

SJVN issued the tender on July 31, 2024, held the e-reverse auction on Feb 27, 2025 and issued letters of award on May 1, 2025.
